Achieving a new groundbreaking milestone in her career, Egyptian rising actress Mayan El-Sayed won Favorite Actress at the second edition of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Abu Dhabi, which took place on Saturday, September 16th, at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena, with the award-winning British artist Jessie J hosting the event.
Mayan's ability to captivate the hearts of children and adults with her remarkable acting skills earned her the prize, which is given based on the votes of children across the region choosing their favorite personalities and celebrities in the worlds of music, films, and television.
In her acceptance speech, Mayan expressed her immense joy upon receiving the prize, saying, “Thank you so much, my dear fans. I wouldn’t have been here without you. I want to send out a message to everyone to believe in themselves, follow their dreams, and never give up.”
This win comes hot on the tail of Mayan being named a brand ambassador for Garnier Middle East.
Mayan also recently finished shooting two films — A FEW HOURS IN ONE DAY, which is based on Mohamed Sadek's novel of the same name, and #GAWWEZNI, in which she stars alongside Amir El-Masry under the helm of Essam Nassar and the penmanship of Mohamed Samir Mabrouk.
As for her upcoming projects on the small screen, after her memorable roles in HAJMATAN MURTADA, LE’BET NEWTON, and ALMAHKAMA in the Ramadan 2021
season — for which she received the Dear Guest Award for Best Young Actress — she will soon be starring in Hossam Ali’s ALF LEILA WE LEILA as Gawaher with Yasser Galal and Nour.
