Tunisian star Fares Landoulsi has recently joined the cast of the upcoming Tunisian drama Welad El Ghoul by director Mourad Ben Cheikh. Slated to premiere in Ramadan 2021, the new drama will mark Landoulsi's debut appearance in a Ramadan drama, following his massive success in the Netflix series Messiah in 2020.
Directed by Mourad Ben Cheikh and written by Rafika Boujday, Welad El Ghoul is a 30-episode social drama that traces the different aspects of the lives of several characters, their daily paradoxes and conflicts as their paths intertwine. The new series will premiere on the Tunisian channel Attessia.
Along with Fares Landoulsi, Welad El Ghoul is headlined by Fethi Al Hadawi, Wahida Dridi, Helmi Dridi, Sarra Hanachi, Youssef Meksi, Maram Ben Aziza, Yasmin Boabid, Fethi Meslmani, and Chakra Ramah.
Fares Landoulsi is a young Tunisian actor who was selected by Screen International among the Arab Stars of Tomorrow for 2019. In 2020, he landed his breakthrough role in Netflix’s Messiah. Before that, he starred in several films that won him critical acclaim including Omertà (2018) which took part in the Director’s Fortnight section at the Cannes Film Festival.
