Celebrating the young actor's journey and remarkable achievements, GQ Middle East awarded Egyptian star Ahmed Malek its Best Actor in 2020 Award. The magazine offers its annual awards to actors who make noteworthy achievements through the year, offering a cover story to the awarded star featuring the world's top fashion houses, including Hermès and Dior, as well as a promotional video.
This marks the second collaboration between Malek and GQ Middle East as the magazine featured an interview with the young star earlier this year under the title: "Ahmed Malek is About to Go Big" where he opened up on his international experience in the Australian film The Furnace.
Malek, one of Screen Daily's Arab Stars of Tomorrow in 2017, has under his belt more than 25 works that won him multiple awards. These include Clash, Exterior/Night and the Australian film The Furnace, which screened in Venice Film Festival and El Gouna Film Festival in 2020.
Malek is currently preparing for several works that will be released in 2021, including the 13-episode serial drama, Investigation, which is slated to stream on WATCH iT and produced by Aroma (Tamer Mortada), in addition to the upcoming series Nasl Al Aghrab, where Malek will be starring opposite super stars Ahmed El Saqqa and Amir Karara. The new TV drama will premiere in Ramadan 2021. He will also star in the new films: Qamar 14 by director Hadi El Bagoury, alongside an all-star cast, and Kira & El Gin, opposite Karim AbdelAziz and Ahmed Ezz, by director Marwan Hamed. The film is based on Ahmed Mourad's best-selling book 1919, and produced by Synergy. Kira & El Gin is slated as one of the highest budget film productions in Egypt and one of the most anticipated Arab films in 2021.
