About Khaled Shbat

Khaled Shbat is an up-and-coming Syrian actor who’s known for his TV roles, including the award-winning CRYSTAL and the critically acclaimed AL KHA’EN, which aired on MBC and Shahid platforms. Starring in a whopping 89 episodes of the aforementioned series, the actor has no doubt made a lasting impression, winning the hearts of viewers across the Arab World. 

He began acting at the tender age of 15, with the 2014 TV series HAMMAM SHAMI, before graduating  from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Syria. He then went on to star in SHAR’AE CHICAGO — a hit 2020 TV series — where alongside the acclaimed Syrian actors Abbas Al Nouri and Amal Arafah. That same year, he appeared in award-winning director Amro Ali’s short film THE VISIT. He also starred in two seasons of the Syrian drama EL KANDOUSH. 

Recently, Shbat took part in the 2024 series THE INTERVIEW, which streamed on Watch It platforms, captivating audiences with yet another striking and compelling performance. In Ramadan of the same year, Shbat shared the screen with the iconic Yehya El-Fakharany in ATABAT EL BAHGA, a gripping drama directed by Magdy Abu Amira, and written by the renowned Medhat El-Adl. 

Shbat concluded 2024 on a high note, winning the title of Best Arab Actor at the prestigious Lebanese Murex d'Or ceremony for his exceptional performance in the 2023 TV series CRYSTAL, directed by Hakan Arslan. The role won over viewers instantly and was recognized for its complex and impeccable delivery; as he portrays a young man with Asperger’s syndrome, earning praise from both audiences and critics for how well he depicted the character's struggles with social communication. It is an Arabic adaptation of the successful Turkish show WAR OF THE ROSES. 

Previously, Shbat won the Best Emerging Actor award at the Damascus International Radio and TV Festival in 2020, as well as the Best Actor award at the Aleppo Theater Festival in 2022.

Khaled Shbat is quickly becoming a staple name in the ethos of film and television, both in Syria and across the Middle East, and with MAD now in his corner, his name is sure to go far and wide; especially considering his upcoming project with the captivating Nour Ali in Allaith Hajjo’s upcoming Ramadan 2025 drama AL BATAL.
