Anjo Rihane is an actress of many masks and one of contemporary Arab media's most formidable chameleons. As a truly multidisciplinary artist, she moves effortlessly across film, television, and theater, blending raw emotional depth with intellectual weight.
Born in Kfarsir, South Lebanon, Rihane moved to Beirut at age 18 to immerse herself in the capital's cultural landscape. Her trajectory was disciplined and academic from the start; she earned a degree in Visual Arts and began working as an art and theater teacher in 2000. Seeking to formalize her performance instincts, she later joined the Institute of Fine Arts at the Lebanese University, graduating with a diploma in Acting and Directing. By 2025, she finished her Professional Master’s Degree in Acting Coaching from the Lebanese University with Very Good Distinction.
Her professional career launched around 2005, with her definitive breakthrough arriving on the hit satirical sketch show MAFI METLO, which established her commercial appeal and served as a rigorous training ground for deep character study. She soon expanded her international footprint with a standout role in Nadine Labaki’s globally celebrated 2011 feature WHERE DO WE GO NOW?, which won the People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival.
On stage, Rihane redefined modern Lebanese monodrama through a profound creative partnership with director Yahia Jaber. Their groundbreaking theatrical trilogy—consisting of ISMI JULIA, SHO MNELBOS, and the masterpiece MUJADARA HAMRA—toured internationally. Her brilliant solo performance portraying three different women navigating patriarchal constraints in MUJADARA HAMRA earned her the Best Actress prize at the Lebanese National Theater Festival in 2020.
In the 2020s, Rihane successfully proved her mettle in high-stakes regional television ensembles, delivering prominent performances in CRYSTAL, CELLO, WA AKHIRAN, and the hit pan-Arab series SALON ZAHRA. As of 2026, she is enjoying a wave of critical acclaim for her role as Salma in the Shahid series MOMKEN, earning praise for layering intense internal tragedy with her signature sharp wit.
