Star Kinda Alloush has revealed her first images from her upcoming film, ‘Yellow Bus.’
‘Yellow Bus,’ a co-production between USA, Mexico, India, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates, has finished its production process, and shall screen exclusively on OSN Network as one of its originals, following its screenings in theaters and international film festivals.
"When I read the first 10 pages of the script, I knew I wanted to be a part of this picture," Kinda said about her role. "It is a human narrative that may occur anywhere in the world."
Alloush added, "I've never played a character with as many facets as Mira, and the more I learn about her, the more I realize how complicated she is. Mira's storyline intertwines with Ananada's narrative throughout the course of the film, as the two embark on a journey to explore various aspects of motherhood and grief."
The film, ‘Yellow Bus,’ highlights several human topics, such as motherhood, Identity, Social alienation, and loss, all of which are entangled within a dramatic plot that represents Arab communities in particular, and international ones in general. This was evident through the story of a six-year-old girl who died of heat exhaustion after falling asleep on the school bus without anybody recognising her.
In the film, Kinda Alloush plays Mira, the school principal, while Tannishtha Chatterjee plays Ananada, the mother of the deceased student, and Amit Sial plays the father Jajan.
Written and directed by American filmmaker Wendy Bednarz, the film stars Kinda Alloush alongside Bollywood Indian star Tannishtha Chatterjee, who won Best Actress Award at a number of international festivals, including the British Independent Film Awards for her role in the British film Brick Lane, as well as Bollywood star Amit Sial, known for the famous series ‘Inside Edge,’ that was nominated for the International Emmy Awards in 2018.
‘Yellow Bus,’ is India's first co-production with the Arab world, produced by Junit Munga, founder of Sikhya Entertainment and producer of 'The Lunchbox,' which was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in English language as well as the Jordanian producer Nadia Eliewat, founder of Screen Project Productions and producer of the award-winning film, ‘When Monaliza Smiled.’
Furthermore, the crew of ‘Yellow Bus,’ has several well-known figures, including multi-award winning French Director of photography Sofian El Fany, who is of Tunisian descent and has won a number of international accolades, including the César Award for his film, ‘Timbuktu.’ Moreover, his other notable works include, ‘Blue Is the Warmest Color’ and ‘It Must Be Heaven,’ which both premiered at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, the most recent of which is the film ‘Perfect Strangers,’ which is currently available on Netflix.
Kinda Alloush was recently featured in Shahid original series ‘Sittat Bayt Al Maadi,’ (House of Maadi), which was screened on December 9. Directed by Mohamed Salama, written by Mohamed Ezzat and starring Tara Emad along with Injy El Mokkaddem, the series ‘Sittat Bayt Al Maadi,’ is the Arabic version of the US series, ‘Why Women Kill.’
In 2020, Kinda was featured in ‘Dai El Amar,’ a TV series that addressed for the first time the artificial insemination, which some people may resort to as a means of conceiving a child. ‘Dai El Amar,’ which was aired on DMC and Watch It, is part of 6 stories featured in the TV series ‘Ella Ana.’
