Biography
Moataz Hesham gained recognition for his portrayal of Selim I in the TV series KINGDOMS OF FIRE, where he was part of an ensemble cast of Arab stars, including Khaled El-Nabawy, Mahmoud Nasr, Abdel-Mounaem Amayri, Nedal Najm, and Kinda Hanna. KINGDOMS OF FIRE was written by Mohammed Soleiman Abdel-Malek and directed by Alejandro Toledo and Peter Webber.
Among the notable works that featured Moataz was the series ABOU OMAR EL MASRY along with Ahmed Ezz, Arwa Gudah, and Munther Rayahnah. The show is based on a novel by Ezz El-Din Shukri Fasheer and was adapted by Mariam Naoum and directed by Ahmed Khaled Moussa.
He also appeared in several renowned TV series, including EL EKHTIYAR, in which he co-starred with Amir Karara and Ahmed El-Awadi, and CAIRO: KABUL by Hossam Ali, starring alongside Tarek Lotfy, Fathi Abdulwahhab, Khaled El-Sawi, and Hanan Motawie.
Moataz then featured in Moataz Hossam’s horror film BEFORE FORTY and the Ramadan 2021 drama WELAD NAS.
This burgeoning star’s latest credits include the Shahid original dramas THE DEVIL’S PROMISE and INTO THE DARK, and the film 11:11. He also played Yassin in the critically acclaimed third season of Shahid’s original series LEIH LAA?!, which starred Nelly Karim and was directed by Nadine Khan, written by Mariam Naoum, and produced by The Producers Company.
Moataz recently starred in MBC’s musical film SUGAR, which is directed by Tamer Mahdy, produced by Aroma, and stars Magda Zaki, Mohamed Tharwat, Reham Elshanawany, Yasmina, and Mohamed Harby. The drama — which addresses a variety of child-related concerns in a comedic fashion — released in theaters across Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE earlier in October.
Moataz also appeared in another series titled WARA’ AL TOOT, which is now available on Shahid.
In the Ramadan 2024 season Moataz guest-starred in Peter Mimi’s historical epic EL HASHASHEEN alongside the legendary Karim Abdel-Aziz’s Hassan Al-Sabbah, he also starred in Ahmed Shafik’s COBRA opposite Mohamed Emam and Magdy Kamel.
