Biography
Based in Paris, Isabelle Zighondi is a rising French-Lebanese actress whose fluency in French, Arabic, English, and Italian gave her the linguistic prowess to work on a myriad of local as well as international projects, even being named a ‘chameleon’ by many of the directors she has worked with for her captivating performances and versatile acting skills.
Stemming from her unwavering commitment to learning and honing her acting skills, she earned a Bachelor's degree in audio-visual cinema from USEK University in Lebanon and then supplemented with a Master's in the same field from Sorbonne University in Paris. She is working on her Ph.D. in Cinema and Dance, focusing on acting for films and series at l'ENSAV and Toulouse University in France.
Zighondi's acting journey began with notable appearances in the world of cinema, sharing the screen with acclaimed actors Wajdi Mouawad and Alba Rohrwacher in 2020’s SOUS LE CIEL D'ALICE by Chloé Mazlo. The film went on to be selected for the Cannes Film Festival’s Critics’ Week, solidifying Isabelle's talent and placing her in the spotlight.
Her talent further shone in two other feature films; in 2021, Isabelle starred in MEMORY BOX by Joanna Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreig, which was the first motion picture to represent Lebanon at the 71st Berlinale in four decades. She also showcased her acting prowess in STATE OF AGITATION by Elie Khalifeh in 2022.
Besides feature films, Isabelle has several short films to her name, including PEACE FOR BEIRUT, NEWS FROM LEBANON, and THE CALL.
Her latest works include the two Shahid original series DAHAB by Mohamed Samir and FLIGHT 422 by British director Ashley Pearce.
Before breaking into the film industry, Isabelle was a dancer and performer with the prestigious Caracalla Dance Theater in Lebanon from 2015 to 2017. Her dance background has undoubtedly influenced her physicality and ability to bring grace and fluidity to her acting performances.
Additionally, Isabelle possesses a melodious singing voice and has showcased her vocal talent in various projects, including a live performance of La Chanson de Mona in the film SOUS LE CIEL D'ALICE.
