Born and raised in Khartoum, Bunna Khalid is a Sudanese rising actress who studied at Al-Khansaa School, then joined National Ribat University, where she studied Public Relations. After graduating, she worked as a public relations agent and thanks to that job she travelled to many countries including Tanzania, Uganda, Chad, Egypt and Nigeria. Always working on herself, Bunna is currently learning two new languages: French and Swahili.
Leaving her career in public relations behind, Bunna followed her passion for cinema and acting, where she worked as a fashion model in Sudan and across East Africa for two years. She also established a well-known face among the audiences through modelling in commercial TV ads and that when she was picked by director Amjad Abu Alala to star in You Will Die at Twenty.
Bunna stirred a huge buzz through her astounding performance in director Amjad Abu Alala's You Will Die at Twenty, which reaped a plethora of international awards and has been picked as Sudan’s official submission to the 2021 Academy Awards for the Best Foreign Language Film category. She also had a notable presence on the red carpet at the El Gouna Film Festival in 2020.
