Biography
Tamer Habib is one of the most prolific screenwriters in Egypt and the Arab world, with innate writing talent that cemented his name as one of the most sought-after in Cairowood, with a proven track record for being one of the best screenwriters to write scripts for star-studded films like SAHAR EL LAYALI (2003) and WAHED SAHEH (2011).
The evergreen writer’s name is also attached to several genre-defining masterpieces, including AN EL ASHK WEL HAWA, TAYMOUR W SHAFIKA, ASWAR AL-QAMAR, and one of the stories of 18 YOM, which screened at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.
Not limiting himself to the big screen, Habib also wrote a number of remarkable Ramadan TV hits, including KHAS GEDAN (2009), Youssra’s SHARBAT LOAZ (2012), NEKDEB LAW OLNA MABENHEBESH (2013), TARIQI (2015), GRAND HOTEL (2016), LA TOTFE' AL-SHAMS (2017), LE’ABAT ALNASYAN (2020) — for which he was voted Best Scriptwriter — and the radio drama A’ASHAN EL BIG MILLION, which was a major success, prompting him to work on a TV version that It is being produced by Waleed Moustafa and will be screened on Shahid.
Besides writing and acting, Habib hosted a number of shows on radio, TV, and other online platforms as well, including THE GAME (2007), where he hosted many stars and celebrities, taking them on a psychological adventure through several exciting games that challenge the strength of their focus, their imagination, and reactions.
The celebrated screenwriter was also selected to be a jury member on a number of notable film festivals, including Ismailia and Malmö, where he mentored a Scriptwriting Masterclass about Writing Adapted Screenplays that was moderated by Egyptian star Mona Zaki.
