Biography
In record time, Khaled Al Kammar managed to break through one of the most competitive artistic fields and carve a niche among the most prominent composers with more than 25 artworks across films and TV dramas.
He made his mark on the music scene through his work, garnering him several local and international awards, culminating with the State Encouragement Award in Arts in 2021.
Composing the soundtrack of Karim El-Shenawy's QABEEL marked Al Kammar's first major breakthrough, garnering him the Hollywood Music in Media Award and making him the first Egyptian to receive the award.
Among his filmographies are SAHEB AL MAQAM (2020), which received the Music Award from the Egyptian Catholic Center for Cinema Festival; the science fiction film MOUSA (2021), which marked his first cooperation with director Peter Mimi, with whom he also worked in the successful FOR ZEKO (2022); and the musical; and the family-friendly musical movie SUKKAR, which is available on Shahid.
In terms of his contributions to the Arab world, Al Kammar composed the music of the Saudi Film VALLEY ROAD by Khaled Fahd — which closed the second edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival.
Additionally, he cooperated with some of the most prominent key directors in the TV industry, such as Amr Salama in PARANORMAL — Netflix's first Egyptian production — the second and third seasons of AL-EKHTEYAR, the social comedy series KHALI BALAK MN ZIZI (2021) that was directed by Karim El-Shenawy and written by Mariam Naoum's Sard workshop, Netflix’s original female drama FINDING OLA starring Hend Sabry, and Nelly Karim's FATEN AMAL HARBI series, which was streamed in Ramadan 2022.
Last year, Al Kammar worked on a hattrick of Ramadan dramas—AL AGHAR, THE BOX, and THE SEVENTH ITCH—which garnered him the Best Score Award at the Creative Industry Summit.
On the big screen, he also worked Peter Mimi’s marionette drama SHALABY, the family dramedy WESH X WESH, Mohamed Ramdan’s summer film 3EL ZERO, and the family-friendly musical movie SUKKAR, which is available on Shahid.
Recently, he composed the score for Ahmed El Sakka's mini-series THE LAST ROUND, produced by Amazon, the documentary series OM EL DUNYA (The Motherland) by Watch It, the film MAQSOOM, the upcoming documentary film HEJRA, directed by Sherif Bassiouny, and Saba Mubarak’s hit TV series BETWEEN THE LINES
He was also active during the Ramadan 2024 marathon, composing the soundtracks for the smashing hit Syrian series WLAD BADEE'A, Akram Hosny's uproarious comedy-drama BABA GEH, Yehia el Fkharany's poignant family drama ATABAT EL BAHGA, and Asser Yassin's gripping thriller-drama BEDOUN SABEQ ENZAR.
Last but certainly not least, his upcoming upcoming projects includes the second season of FINDING OLA, the third season of FAMILY MATTER, Waleed El Halfawy’s CATALOG, and Husain El-Minbawi’s EL DABA’
