Kareem El Adl began his career at the early age of 15, before enrolling in the High Institute for Cinema. He started off as an assistant director on several major projects and was notably considered one of the youngest directors in Egypt, debutting a feature-length film by the age of 24; 2010’s WALAD W BENT.

Two years later, in 2012, El Adl would go on to direct MESAWAR QATEEL. It was notably written by the award-winning Amr Salama, and featured actors Ahmed Fahmy and Dorra Zarrouk.

The film won three awards from the Catholic Center Cinema Festival; including a Jury Award, Best Soundtrack, and a Best Set Design Award. It also participated in Morocco’s Khouribga International African Film Festival, winning Best Screenplay, and Best Actor to Ahmed Fahmy. It was also featured in the Official Competition lineup of the 35th Cairo International Film Festival, garnering a nomination for Best Cinematography.

El Adl boasts an extensive background working on TV series; including Ramadan’s RAYYAH EL MADAME, and the first season of ANA SHAHIRA.. ANA EL KHAEN— two of the most successful series of 2017— superstar Haifa Wehbe’s ASWAD FATEH, and the hit 2023 Shahid series AZMAT MONTASAF AL OMR, as well as the comedic film EL AMIL SIFR.

El Adl is currently working on 220 YOUM, in tandem with Cedars Art productions. The series is set to star Saba Mubarak, and Karim Fahmy.
