Mai Omar is one of the most popular Egyptian actresses of her generation, whose exceptional performances have left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. Widely recognized for AL OSTORA, WELD EL GHALABA, LU'LU', NEAMA EL AVOCATO, and ISH ISH, she has built her career around portraying complex female characters whose ambitions, relationships, and personal struggles drive compelling narratives, earning her widespread acclaim and a devoted fan base across the Arab World.

Mai studied journalism and mass communication at the American University in Cairo. During her university years, she developed a passion for performance and theater, participating in stage productions. Before pursuing acting professionally, she experimented with both production and directing, experiences that broadened her understanding of the filmmaking process and helped shape her artistic perspective.

Mai made her acting debut in 2013 in the television series HEKAYET HAYAT, starring Ghada Abdel Razek, marking the beginning of an illustrious career that would quickly gain momentum. She followed this breakthrough with appearances in successful television productions such as KALAM ALA WARAQ alongside Haifa Wehbe and HALET ESHQ.

Her popularity then expanded significantly through a series of high-profile television dramas, including AL OSTORA, RAYYAH EL MADAM, WELD EL GHALABA, and AL FETEWA. However, a major turning point in her career came with the television series LU'LU', in which she played the title role of an aspiring singer determined to achieve fame and success. The series captivated audiences across the Arab World and solidified her status as a leading star. In addition to starring in the series, she also contributed to the development of its story.

Since then, Mai has continued to headline a string of acclaimed dramas, including NASL EL AGHRAB, RANIA AND SAKINA, and ELAKA MAASHROUA. In 2024, she delivered another standout performance in NEAMA EL AVOCATO, portraying lawyer Neama Abu Alab. The role earned her the Best Arab Actress Award at the Iraq International Film Festival and Best Egyptian Arab Actress at the Murex d’Or Awards, while the series won Favorite Egyptian Series at the 2025 Joy Awards.

In 2025, her success reached a crescendo when she led the cast of ISH ISH, portraying a dancer navigating a web of complex family and social conflicts. The role stirred a huge buzz through her astounding performance.

In parallel to her television success, Mai has made notable contributions to Egyptian cinema, appearing in films such as TESBAH ALA KHAIR, AKHER DEEK FI MASR, TAHT TAHDID AL SILAH, HARLEY, MR. EX, and BADAA SAAT FI YAWMAN MA.

Most recently, she starred in the television series EL SET MONA LISA, playing the title character as she navigates mounting challenges in her married life. Her acclaimed performance earned her a second Murex d’Or award for Best Egyptian Arab Actress in Egyptian Drama. She also starred opposite Ahmed El Awadi in the feature film SHAMSHON W DALILA, taking on the role of Dalila.

Looking ahead, Mai is gearing up for the Ramadan spotlight with the series HALIMA GOBRAN. Written by Mohab Tarek and directed by Mohamed Bakir, the series marks the latest chapter in a career defined by ambition, versatility, and continued success.
