Biography
Mohammed Hatem is an award-winning actor known for his layered and complex roles throughout several film and TV roles over the last decade, with his most popular outings being his roles in legendary director Yousry Nasrallah’s Shahid original drama MENAWARAH BI AHLAHA along with the Emmy-nominated EVERY WEEK HAS A FRIDAY and the drama BETLOU EL ROUH.
After graduating from Cairo University’s Faculty of Law, Hatem quickly discovered his passion for films and went on to pursue a career in the field, acting alongside stars such as Bassem Samra and Nelly Karim.
Debuting in the 2007 short MAXIM, Hatem went on to star in the award-winning 2011 anthology 18 DAYS, and WHEN WE’RE BORN, for which his performance allotted him the Best Actor Award at the 2020 Malmö Arab Film Festival.
He’s also no stranger to the smaller screen, starring in numerous instant classics and hits; including GRAND HOTEL opposite Amr Youssef, and TARIQI, alongside the crowd-favorite singer Sherine Abdelwahab.
Further entries to his TV repertoire include the series LE AALA SAAR— where he starred alongside Nelly Karim— the 2019 historical drama KINGDOMS OF FIRE— created by Muhammed Abdulmalik and directed by Peter Webber— and his latest role the 2024 Ramadan series AALA NESBET MOSHAHDA.
Hatem also has experience with theatre, memorably performing in a troupe for LE VOYAGE DE MA VIE; which held its first set of stagings in France, before making its way to Egypt.
