A few days ahead of being honored at the 41st Festival Cinéma Méditerranéen Montpellier (CINEMED), producer and screenwriter Mohamed Hefzy gets selected to serve as a jury member for the Official Competition at the 63rd BFI London Film Festival (October 2-13).
In the press release announcing its jury line-up for this year's Festival Awards, the BFI London Film Festival mentioned the selection of Mohamed Hefzy, highlighting his extended career as an award-winning Egyptian screenwriter and producer with over 30 features to his name, including Mohamed Diab's Clash, which screened in Un Certain Regard at Cannes and in LFF Competition in 2016. Hefzy is also Festival President of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF).
The Official Competition Jury brings together English actress Lena Headey (Game of Thrones TV series), Jane Crowther, editor of leading UK film magazine Total Film, English actress Hayley Squires (I, Daniel Blake and Happy New Year, Colin Burstead), and director Sudabeh Mortezai, whose film Joy won at the festival's Official Competition last year.
