Amr Saad reigns as one of Egypt’s most celebrated actors, leaving an indelible mark on the entertainment industry through bold performances that explore socially complex themes and emotionally charged characters.

His artistic journey began in 1999 with a striking appearance in Youssef Chahine’s THE OTHER, followed by a memorable role in Yousry Nasrallah’s EL MEDINA in the same year. Around this time, he also experimented with stage and television work, laying the foundation for his versatile career.

Saad’s true breakthrough came through his collaboration with director Khaled Youssef. In 2006, he played a pivotal role in KHIANA MASHROUA, which paved the way for his first leading role in HENA MAYSARA (2007) — a performance that sparked critical debate and achieved massive popular success.

Building on this momentum, Saad continued his collaboration with Khaled Youssef in DOKKAN SHEHATA (2009), where he excelled in portraying a rural-rooted popular hero, reflecting the suppressed social transformations of Egyptian society at the time.

Saad’s momentum carried into the following decade. In 2010, he impressed audiences in AL KIBAR, sharing the screen with Zeina, Khaled El Sawy, and Mahmoud Abd El Moghny. Four years later, he headlined the action-packed crime drama HADEED (2014), opposite Dorra, Zaki Fateen Abdel Wahab, Ahmed Abdelaziz, and Ahmed Fathy. In 2015, he delivered a compelling performance in REGATTA alongside Elham Shahine, and in the same year, captivated audiences with ASWAR EL AMAR, a romantic triangle drama featuring Mona Zaki and Asser Yassin.

In 2016, Saad took a daring artistic leap with MOLANA, by Magdy Ahmed Ali. His portrayal of a young preacher torn between media influence and state pressures earned international recognition, particularly after the film was unveiled at the Berlin International Film Festival. The role earned him the Best Actor Awards from the Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival, the Tetouan Mediterranean Film Festival, and the Luxor African Film Festival, as well as from the Egyptian Catholic Center for Cinema Festival.

Further expanding his artistic range, he most recently portrayed the late Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser in Marwan Hamed’s film EL SETT.

While cinema has been central to his career, Saad has also become a fixture of Egyptian television, especially during Ramadan seasons. He headlined MAMLAKET EL JEBAL in 2010, then brought Abdel Aziz to life in SHAREA’ ABDEL AZIZ (2011), supported by Ola Ghanem, Hana Shiha, Samy El Adl, and Naglaa Badr. His success continued with KHORM EBRA (2012) opposite Sawsan Badr, and in 2014, he reprised his role in SHAREA’ ABDEL AZIZ 2, confirming the popularity of the first season.

The mid-2010s saw him star in ESTEEFA (2015), YOUNIS WELD FADDA (2016), WAD’ AMNI (2017), and BARAKA (2019). In 2021, he delivered a standout performance in MELOUK EL GADAA’NA alongside Moustafa Shaaban. His versatility continued in 2022, leading TOUBA with Saba Mubarak and AL GISSER with Nelly Karim on Shahid. Ramadan 2023 brought another success with AL AGHAR, where he starred alongside Dorra, Sayed Ragab, Khaled Zaki, Anoushka, Nour El Nabawy, and Nahed El Sebaay.

Two years later, in Ramadan 2025, he headlined SEED EL-NAS, and the following year he starred in the Ramadan series EFRAG, further cementing his reputation as a television star capable of delivering both intensity and relatability.

On the international stage, Saad lent his voice to the Arabic version of the British series SINBAD in 2012, and in 2023, he appeared in THE GOAT by Ilaria Borrelli, a film that went on to win more than a dozen awards, including the Capri Mediterranean Award at the 28th Capri Hollywood International Film Festival, which was given to Saad.
