Biography
Raya Abirached is one of the most important TV personalities in the Arab world. She is the only Arab TV presenter to interview prominent Hollywood stars on a regular basis. She is also the producer, writer, and researcher of her TV programs, which makes her an inspiration to many women and girls around the world with her successful career of more than 15 years.
Raya hosted several TV shows, including the weekly business show World Business, which aired on CNBC Europe and Asia. She is also the researcher, presenter, and producer of her popular TV program Scoop With Raya, which airs on MBC 2, and co-hosts the hit TV talent show Arabs Got Talent.
The seasoned host also covers important film events like the Academy Awards, BAFTA, and Golden Globes ceremonies, along with international film festivals, such as the Cannes, Berlin, and Venice international film festivals.
Moreover, she hosted a number of big events and festivals, like the El Gouna Film Festival in 2018, the Red Sea International Film Festival in 2022 and 2023, the Disney Bespoke Show for Dubai Expo 2020, and the Time 100 Impact Awards in Dubai in 2023.
Abirached also lent her voice to the Arabic versions of some of the most famous animation films, such as The Angry Birds Movie and Smurfs: The Lost Village, Angry Birds 2, SPY KIDS IN DISGUISE, and HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA.
Raya's charismatic presence and charm have made her one of the most sought-after faces in the Arab world to represent several brands. She is currently a brand ambassador for Bvlgari. Prior to that, she was an ambassador for a variety of global brands, including Armani, Sony Mobile, Azza Fahmy, Banana Republic, the American fashion house, Head & Shoulders, Himalaya, and IWC Schaffhausen luxury watches.
In November 2019, Abirached won the Arab Women of the Year Award for Achievement in Television at the 2019 Arab Women of the Year Awards in London, as well as the award for Nickelodeon Arabia’s Favorite TV Personality of the Year.
In terms of her humanitarian work, in April 2021, Raya was appointed as the UNHCR’s Goodwill Ambassador in the MENA Region, making her the first Arab female to be given the role.
