The Egyptian star Ahmed Magdy has joined the TV series ‘El Meshwar,’ which is scheduled for screening during Ramadan 2022. Magdy posted a poster of his character in the upcoming series,
on his official Instagram account . Directed by Mohamed Yassin and written by Mohamed Farid, Magdy plays the role of Lieutenant-Colonel Alaa of the Antiquities Investigations Department, a police investigator who is pursuing the hero of the series, due to his involvement in an illicit antiquities trade.
The series is produced by Media Hub, which previously produced the Newton Game drama series during Ramadan 2021. Magdy stars among a star-studded cast including Mohamed Ramadan and Dina El-Sherbiny, making this Magdy's third year in a row to act in Ramadan's drama marathon, following his drama hits Second Chance (2020) and Qasr El Nil (2019).
Ahmed Magdy’s latest work was the film, ‘Hadath fi 2 Talaat Harb.’ Moreover, he was a member of the jury of the Diaspora Competition along with the Palestinian director Rachid Mashharawi and the Tunisian producer Doura Bouchoucha, at the 11th edition of Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF), which ended on March 10.
In addition to his rich portfolio of successful projects as an actor, one that includes his roles in Microphone (2010), The Gate of Departure (2015), and Mawlana (2016), Magdy is also a unique filmmaker whose feature film The Giraffe (2018) attained many awards.
