In 2024, she served as artistic advisor and participated in the production of FROM GROUND ZERO through her company Nomadis Images. The film screened at Cannes and Toronto festivals, was Palestine’s official Oscar submission, and was shortlisted for Best International Feature Film. In 2025, she co-produced AISHA CAN’T FLY AWAY, also through Nomadis Images. The film world premiered in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard section and won the FIPRESCI Award at the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival.
Dora Bouchoucha has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 2018, a recognition of her enduring influence and contribution to global cinema.
As a teenager, Dorra volunteered at the Carthage Film Festival — the oldest film festival in Africa and the Arab world — before presiding over three of its editions (2008, 2010, and 2014). To further the festival’s development, she established the projects' workshop in 1992 and then the Takmil Workshop in 2014. In 2023, she returned to Carthage as President of the Jury for Documentary Features and Short Films at its 34th edition.
Additionally, she has been a permanent member of the Rotterdam International Film Festival's CineMart for over ten years now. She also served on the jury for the Luigi De Laurentiis Venice Award for Debut Films.
Also, from 2007 to 2011, she served as a consultant on Arab and African films for the Venice Film Festival's selection board.
In 2023, her presence was felt at the illustrious Cannes event, where she took on the role of a patron for La Fabrique du Cinéma, where she provided valuable guidance and support to 10 emerging directors, assisting them in shaping their first or sophomore film projects. Additionally, she showcased her expertise by delivering a remarkable masterclass.
Not stopping at Cannes, she extended her influence to the Venice festival, where she actively participated in a panel discussion titled ‘The Golden Time for Arab Talents Regionally and Internationally,’ an event expertly hosted by the esteemed Arab Cinema Center—and served as a jury member in its 80th edition.
Notably, she also served as a distinguished jury member at the 2023 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
Her festival involvement further expanded in 2024 and 2025, serving on the production market jury of the Saudi Film Festival (2024), the Atlas Atelier jury at the Marrakech International Film Festival (2024), and the industry jury at the Amman International Film Festival (2025). She was also a featured speaker at the 2025 Durban Film Mart Conversation Series.
