Film Editor Dina Farouk started her career while she was still studying Video and Film Editing at the Higher Institute of Cinema. At the time, she worked with some of Egypt's finest filmmakers including Samir Seif in Souk Al Motaa (1999). Believing in her film-cutting talent, Seif chose Dina to edit his film hit Ma'ali Al Wazir (2002), which made her one of the most in-demand names in the editing field.
Throughout her career, Farouk edited some of the best romantic-drama Egyptian films, including Hob El Banat by Khaled El Hagar. She edited three films by late director Mohamed Khan: Banat West El Balad, Fi Shaket Masr El Gedeeda and Before The Summer Crowds. Farouk also edited three of Kamla Abouzekri’s films: Sana Oula Nasb, A’an El Eshq Wel Hawa and Malik W Ketaba.
In 2007, Dina broke into the film production business by establishing WIKA for Film Production and Distribution. In 2012, WIKA produced its first feature film, Harag W’ Marag by Nadine Khan. Wika also produced Kiss Me Not (2017) by Ahmed Amer, which screened at DIFF in 2017, and Moga Harra (2013) TV series by Mohamed Yassin. Dina is currently working on her next project the film About Her by Islam El Azzazi, which is slated to be released soon.
